If only after it warms up it sounds like a too lean condition. The computer will richen the mixture based on coolant and ambient temp to assist in starting much like a choke on carbed models. As the engine warms the computer leans the mixture out accordingly. If for some reason the mixture is too lean it can throw a misfire code.

My guess is the ignition coil (this car uses one central coil for all 4 cylinders), and as the coil warms up it has issues delivering spark and since that there is a misfire and unburned fuel the car is running rich. One plug on the passenger side was loose, had oil on the threads and would not make a good ground. New plugs took care of it. It starts and runs fine until the water temperature gauge reaches 180 degrees. Then the engine starts to run rough. It idles okay but from 3,000 to 4,000 rpm it starts to misfire, backfire, pre-detonate, and the water temperature quickly jumps to 210-215 degrees. Both of the cooling fans operate but only on high. Now, I get an erradic idle and an intermittent misfire at idle. Running down the road, I don't feel anything. If I crank the engine up warm, it bucks about 3 seconds and then goes to the erradic idle. On a cold restart it purrs like a kitten and shows no symptoms. After a 30 minute drive down the highway the condition returns.
